Selling my rabbit diesel pickup. This is a project. It has its original 1.6NA diesel with a 5 speed transmission.

The top end needs to be done. I’ve priced the the parts @ $700 and you’ll have a 55mpg rare vw pickup. I’m just not willing to mess with it anymore. These little trucks are amazing, I have another one and I don’t need two. It starts, runs, drives, shifts, and stops. But when the thermostat opens heat and pressure start leaking into the collant system due to a head gasket failure. We can go for a short ride, but it will soon overheat. Needs a new head & gasket. I’d recommend doing a timing belt at the same time. Ive had the head off & put feeler gauges on it, its warped. At the time I was only prepared to do the gasket and it held for over a year. New ready to install heads for these are $550. The floor pans are toast and need to be replaced and there is some rust and other cosmetics to deal with. It’s 38 years old. Stut towers are solid. I have some extra parts that come with it, and I know alot about these pickups, just ask.
