More Details & Pictures
Rare find mint condition, all original engine and trans, with 104,000 miles.
Obsessively maintained. Absolutely zero rust on the steering columns.
55mpg, and will surpass 60mpg on a road trip. Perfect for commuting or a first truck.
LX model with the chrome line trim all over the body and with chrome bumpers.
I bought this truck from an old couple that didn’t drive it very much. I have been changing out old/bad parts ever since.
New Michelin traction tires
New Battery
Preowned alternator, tested and worked perfectly before installed.
New voltage regulator, so full carbon brushes.
New Water pump
New Serpentine and Timing Belt
Almost every gasket has been replaced, from the water pump, head gasket, valve cover gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, intake manifold gasket, and numerous small gaskets for the water outlets.
Absolutely zero leaks
New water expansion tank, with new hoses for it.
Radiator flushed twice
New steering rack boots
New rubber exhaust hangers
Preowned starter, tested and worked perfectly before installed.
New fuel filter
New oil filter
Headlights converted to H4 bulbs; a more modern bulb so you don’t have to change the entire housing now.
All other exterior bulbs changed with new ones.
New dash illuminating bulbs
New headlight switch, the old one had a short.
The truck did not have a tire iron or a jack, so I bought them and put them behind the seat.
Comes with 4 spare tires, one of them is fastened under the bed. The spare tires are not in good condition, but 2 of them have factory matching rims.
Comes with gem top camper shell.
Comes with numerous extra parts that I can show you in person.
Comes with the Bentley manual, was 60 dollars.
Comes with the Haynes manual, was 50 dollars.
Comes with a 5 gallon diesel Jerry can if wanted.
The truck was timed professionally by a vw specialist as well as the fuel injectors. He has worked on older Volkswagen’s his entire life.
He specifically said that the engine sounded very healthy when all the work was done.
The interior is in immaculate condition, all original dash and floor boards, with leather seats.
A bonus about this truck is the factory heater was overkill, so it runs very hot after warmed up. And the center of gravity of the truck combined with the fwd makes this truck a true snow machine.
I’ve loved this truck in the time I’ve had it, a true icon. The reason I’m selling it is because I want a larger truck for heavy work purposes.
The clearcoat is cracking in a few spots.
