1982 VW Rabbit pickup. 1.6 liter diesel with the 5 speed manual transmission.
The good:
-Around 30,000 miles on a professionally rebuilt engine (I have the receipt)
-Zero structural rust, minimal rust otherwise, one bad spot on the bed on the passenger side can be seen in the picture
-Very solid original truck, there’s nothing about it as it sets that would keep you from driving as often and far as you want
The bad:
-Cosmetically the truck could use some help inside and out. The interior is rough. I have an uncracked replacement dash and a box of misc. bits to go with it.
-The windshield was replaced several years ago and Safelite reused the seal, which leaks. I just keep it parked under cover. I have a new seal for it.
-I rarely drive the truck which might be the only issue but I can’t guarantee that something isn’t draining the battery. I just put a disconnect on the battery so I wouldn’t have to worry about it. I put a new Napa battery in it 2 years ago.
I’ve had this truck 13 years and I’m not pressed to sell it but I don’t drive it enough anymore to justify keeping it. If it’s on here it’s available. Serious buyers only, please.
