Volkswagen rabbit pickup (sometimes called a Caddie) was going to be my little project but I haven’t had time to work on it and should sell it.
The 1.7L engine is the best part of this truck. Starts easy and doesn’t smoke. Manual transmission works fine, brakes will stop the truck but need to be replaced and/or adjusted. Tires are decent. Pickup bed and cab are virtually rust free. Floor pans have no rust. Inner front fenders do have rust that would need to be addressed. Especially the passenger side with has a six inch hole from the inner fender to the engine bay. A common issue for these Volkswagens.
I had begun work fixing the interior and have parts to make it whole and nicer but is not installed. The front windshield is cracked but I have a replacement as well. Lastly the truck did overheat in August and I have a new radiator, thermostat and other parts not yet installed. Everything comes with the truck. As seatbelts need to be reinstalled I cannot offer a test drive but I can demonstrate that the truck runs and drives.
