Mk1 Rabbit Diesel Pickup, 5spd. Has a camper shell on the bed, these are very rare! Has about 300k miles.

I’m sad to be listing this truck, but I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. If I had access to a garage, I’d fix it myself. I also need the money right now. I’ve only had it since May, but it’s been my baby. Even with its problems, it’s a joy to drive. I’m a broke college student though, and I just don’t have time or money to deal with antique car things.

If you can get the motor mounts fixed, I think you’ll have a perfectly drivable Rabbit.

Problems:
-Motor mounts need to be replaced as soon as possible (new mounts are included)
-Transmission is having issues shifting because the bad mounts are causing the linkages to misalign. No issues other than that. It’s hard to shift into 1st or 2nd unless you reverse just a bit to get the engine to sit correctly. So replacing the mounts will definitely fix this
-Various minor broken non-mechanical components
-Typical old Volkswagen body rust. However the frame is *still fine*
-Front tires need to be replaced soon

Engine is fine considering the mileage. Normal blowby, no oil leaks, and doesn’t seem to burn much oil.

I can drive it to you within a couple hours distance. It’s drivable if you want, but kind of a handful with the shifting issues. Text/Email me and make an offer! I can’t go too much lower than $1700. I probably won’t answer any phone calls from unknown numbers.
