Summary
This 1981 Volkswagen Caddy is a diesel-swapped project powered by a 1.9L AAZ turbo diesel with around 80k miles on the refreshed drivetrain. Featuring Recaro seats, Euro dash, coilovers, flipped axle, rear air shocks, and a new fuel tank, it runs and drives but needs finishing touches, including a battery, paint work, and interior assembly. With minimal rust and strong mechanical potential, it’s a solid foundation for a unique custom build.

Seller Write-Up
Going to list this 1981 Volkswagen Caddy for sale. Runs and drives, needs battery.
1.9 turbo diesel AAZ imported from Canada. Motor and transmission only have around 80k miles and have been completely gone through.
• Helios Recaro seats
• Euro hard plastic dash
• Flipped axle
• Front coil overs
• Rear air shocks
• New fuel tank
Very small bits of rust in bed and floor boards. Quarter size holes, nothing really bigger.
Paint will need to be redone, cracking on roof and hood.
I will entertain selling the truck as a roller, without certain high dollar parts and no engine/trans.
This truck is a project.
• Doesn’t have AC or heat
• Seats are not mounted in it
• Will need some love to be a driver
Please keep that in mind when messaging me. The video of it is how it sits and what wheels it comes on. BBS’s are not included, period.
