Description: 1981 vw volkswagen rabbit pickup caddy diesel 1.6 n/a engine.
40 mpg fuel economy.
No rust! Which is a rarity with these things.
Pretty straight body.
No carpet, driver seat is worn, tail light is cracked.
When I got it I did a bunch of preventative maintence:
Replaced the timing belt,
Replaced the timing belt tensioner.
Checked the valves,
Replaced the difficult to change driver side motor mount,
Checked the compression, which is 450 psi (100% of factory spec)
Changed the oil, air filter and valve cover gasket, fuel/oil filter.
Since then I have:
Changed the engine oil regularly
Replaced the water pump
Changed air filter
Replaced the alternator & v belt
Gave it fresh pretty green paint
Bedlinered the bed.
Replaced the glow plugs with bosch 10second quick plugs.
I also can include a custom tool box rack and got a tool box which really increases storage space
It has a 265/75 14r black steel wheels on it with good tread.
Spare tire, jack and tire iron
It can possibly also include a set of aluminum 13″ rims with snow tires on it.
Been my daily driver for the last 2 years. Moving out of the country so sadly I must liquidate my beloved truck.
