Description: I have a clean 82 rabbit pickup for sale. 1.6L diesel, five speed manual transmission. I just finished restoring the truck, I’ll put all of the big stuff I did.
Timing belt/pulley
Head gasket
Oil change/filter
Coolant flush/thermostat
New shifter bushings
New brake lines/master cylinder/wheel cylinders
Now on to body work. The truck had its share of rust holes and horrible paint when I got it. All of the rust was fixed with black iron sheet metal, I didn’t just shove bondo in them. The whole truck was sanded down and then painted in red oxide primer with sealer on top. The paint turned out great, although some is peeling above the taillights because of the tape I used for the bedliner. It is now rust free and completely straight. No dents. I fabricated a new rear bumper for it as the old one was rusted out and flex sealed both front and back bumpers.
This truck runs and drives great. The few problems it still has are:
The brakes are soft. They’ll stop it, but don’t expect to lock up the front tires.
The radio works but gets no signal due to the lack of an antenna.
The drivers taillight red lens is missing. Haven’t found a replacement yet.
The A/C needs a recharge.
The hood sometimes gets stuck down due to a bent latch.
This truck is a solid daily driver that needs very little to get it going. Due to the rarity of it, I believe the price is very fair. It only has 155,902 miles on it. The price is negotiable. I would only consider trades that are old, strange, and/or have a manual transmission. Must be running and driving. Call or text anytime.
