1981 rabbit diesel n/a 1.6 with 5 speed transmission.
It was converted from a 4 to 5 speed.
I’ve had this for about 10 years. It’s been sitting for about 3ish years.
Problem, timing belt broke and also broke the camshaft.
I bought a 2005 german import n/a 1.9l with 70k miles to install. I saw it run good on a stand before I bought it.
Both engines are on the ground and I began swapping necessary parts from the 1.6 to the 1.9.
Problem 2, I am no longer interested in this project, I can’t keep up with all I have going on and need to let some things go before they rot away.
The body is in good shape, interior is not great, but functional, dash and cluster are nice.
