Description: This 1981 VW rabbit truck with 180k original miles has just undergone a complete two-year restoration. It has a $3500 brand-new 1.9 TDI (IDI non-turbo) crate engine with less than 1000 miles on it, new radiator and heater core, 2″ strait pipe exhaust with old school Monza tip (exhaust is loud), 5 speed transmission with new clutch and CV axles with less than 200 miles on them, over $7000 in custom paint and body modifications, single stage (NO CLEAR COAT) original Lago blue color, nearly perfect Recaro GLi power seats, 1990 Cabriolet dash with full set of VDO Cockpit gauges, beautiful Scirocco steering wheel, NOS door panels and new headliner, all new door and window rubber with new windshield, remote mirrors, and rare stationary quarter windows. Entire cab has been filled with “Roadkill” sound deadner/insulation, custom built front phantom grill and bumpers with LED taillights and European Hella H4 headlights, Suspension Techniques 3.5″ front adjustable coilovers and rear 4″ drop axle plates, 15×4.5 EMPI replica Porsche alloys with Toyo tires, Raceland upper strut bar, and lower control arm “K” brace. This truck gets 35+ mpg, sounds and accelerates like it has a gas engine, and did 92 mph on GPS. I have invested over $18,000 in this truck. It will take you anywhere you want to go, reliably, comfortably, and economically. I truly love this truck, but I need to let it go.
Minor things that need finishing are:
Fresh air venting and heater controls need to be hooked up. Truck bed needs paint or bed liner/coating. Turn signals and speedometer need to be hooked up.
