1981 VW Caddy

My family has been the second owners of this VW Caddy.

This is a prepper’s dream. No computers and only one wire turns it off and on. This is a NON-Turbo Model. Which makes it very simple. It gets 40 to 47 MPG. This is not a show truck, but one of the best daily drivers you could find. It was painted two years ago to the factory red. I had five coats of clear added for extra protection. It has a new bed liner installed. The new injection pump has about 2500 miles on it. It has new glow plugs and rebuilt injectors. The intake has been opened up and a modified air filter added. The exhaust has been opened up and a glass pack installed.

The battery has been relocated to the truck bed. It does have a nice jell battery in it. The transmission has been upgraded to a factory diesel five speed with a new clutch, throw out bearing, and shift linkage. It also has new axles and boots. The brake pads and rotors are at 90%. Wheel bearings all grease up and ready to go. It has a new high flow aluminum radiator with an electric fan. I have installed a new window washer reservoir. As you can see from the pictures. It has a new grill and headlight rings. Both front and rear windshield glass has been glued in and upgraded. This helps to have no leaks. Both doors have new window gaskets and wing window gaskets.

The inside of the cab has a factory carpet kit that has just been installed with sound deadening material. It has seats out of a 2003 GTI. It has a pioneer stereo with amplifier and sub. As you can see from the pictures. It has a new dash pad and a new plastic dash insert where the gauges are and stereo. The only thing in the cab that is not complete is the head linear. I have studdless tires and wheels on it now. I do have the factory wheels and an extra set of nice wheels.

This truck has been very well cared for. You will be hard pressed to find another daily driver this nice.
