I have for sale a 1982 VW rabbit truck with a TDI conversion done. The 1Z engine came from a 1996 VW passat 5 speed car. It had 300,xxx miles on it when I put the engine in the rabbit, body had 180,xxx some on it when I started.

The Good: Fresh oil change. New serpentine belt, new A/C compressor, timing belt was done before installation into Rabbit, new glow plugs, new brakes the whole way around, new struts up front. All systems work. A/C, heat, turn signals, break lights, driving lights, radio, and bed liner. Have a box of extra parts and fasteners and 3 13 wheels to go with it.

The bad: The dome light recently started staying on all the time, just have to turn it off by switch. It runs & drives great. Have pictures showing the full restoration process and rust repair done to it. I repaired the floor pans, replaced the rocker panels and the rear wheel wells as well. Then painted on a two tone white with baby blue paint job VW color too, came from around 1993 cabrio or something along those lines. This truck is a driver. It is not perfect, but can be driven anywhere. It’s a great gopher truck. Going to get parts, going for groceries etc. Gets 35 – 40 mpg. I am only selling because I want something a little bigger myself. I am 6’3″ and my head hits the headliner if the seat is not adjusted perfectly. Let me know what questions you have on it.
