This is a 1980 VW Rabbit pickup I’ve been holding on to now for around a decade.

Originally a 1.6 diesel 5 speed truck but i got it with no drivetrain. It was originally from Arizona then made its way to a field in southern Wisconsin. Changed hands a couple times after that and then made its way to me.

It is Lago blue, the body only has a couple dings and has a killer patina. The reason i didn’t build this years ago is because the passenger side outer strut tower has rust. At some point it had an aftermarket a/c system added and the rubber line rested on that spot for years rusting it out. Included in the sale is a front chunk from another 1980 Lago blue rabbit with 2 great strut towers to fix it. The rest of the body only has surface rust. Floors are so solid, pinch welds are straight as an arrow. I tried to show everything the best i could in the photos.

Reason for sale is that i have wayy too many projects at the moment and i picked up another 80 caddy from Colorado that ill be getting to before this one.

The vehicle is being sold as is. There is no drivetrain. I have extras of this stuff but it is so buried in the back of my storage up north I wouldn’t be able to unearth it until spring. The truck also never came with a title. It is soooo easy to get a title for a vehicle this age in the state of Wisconsin now a days. I can fill out all the paperwork and walk the potential new buyer through the process. I also have the title…somewhere… for the front chunk that is included. If i find it i can include it if you wanted to go that route after fixing the rust, since the vin is stamped on that side strut tower.

The price is $800. Anything less and ill keep the tailgate for wall decor.
