Description: Pretty cool diesel rabbit pickup with funky paint job, 5 speed manual transmission and canopy. Also comes with the bed half filled with spare parts, including several alternators, spare starter, new water pump, light covers, door gasket, spare fuel tank, and all kinds of other stuff. A little under 155,000 miles on the odometer.
Engine runs well, shifts smoothly, brakes are good after vacuum pump rebuild and two new brake cylinders. The E-brake doesn’t work. Also has many little things wrong. Only the fastest speed on the heater/defroster fan works, and it is very loud and occasionally alarmingly loud. The temperature control for the heater is stuck at the warmest setting, so the heater is either off or very warm. Both wing windows are caulked shut and the opening mechanisms are presumably no good.
The clock doesn’t work. The body is pretty straight but has a small amount of rust, the two worst spots are pictured here, the lower right corner of the driver door and near the seam just to the rear of the driver door. The only rust in the bed is near the top of the bed wall just behind the driver seat, you can see it in the picture of the bed. The canopy seems to hold water except that it doesn’t fit tightly up against the cab on one side in the front, so a small amount of water can get in. Interior is a bit rough but mostly complete.
This truck is my daily driver and has run well for me, starts every time, and gets around 40 miles per gallon, but it needs more tinkering than I want to do. I’m asking $2500, and might be interested in a trade for a good-running geo metro, civic vx hatchback or some other cheap, super-efficient subcompact plus some cash.
