“GTI” version: Engine swap from 1986 Cabriolet and all approved through CA smog referee

Engine, fuel system, front suspension, power steering and brakes all from Cabriolet

Also swapped over: interior, dash, fender flares, wheels

67K miles on the engine; 37K miles on truck since the swap. Between my kids and I we have driven this truck almost daily.

Upgrades: rear disc brake conversion from MkIII Jetta, Magnaflow muffler, bedliner coating, dynamat in cab under and behind seats, relays on headlights, engine compartment steam cleaned

New parts since swap: cat, fuel pump relay, master cylinder, radiator, water pump, front struts, engine mounts, clutch, timing belt and more. Tires and battery almost brand new.

I have various spare parts I will include. I also have all of my records as well as receipts from the Cabriolet, and carfax reports from both purchases

This truck has always been in California to my knowledge therefore body is solid with only 2 tiny rust areas that have been treated.

It does have the hardware for cruise control and AC but those need troubleshooting.
